校長、各位老師、各位同學： 共：早晨！ 同學A：(同學B)，你知道十月一日是什麼日子嗎？ 同學B：我當然知道啦，不就是香港的公眾假期，我們不用上學，真好呢！ 同學A：不僅如此，十月一日還是我們偉大祖國 ─ 中國的國慶。每年的十月一日，是我們全體中華兒女共同的節日，是我們回顧歷史、展望未來的重要日子。在1949年10月1日，毛澤東主席站在天安門城樓上，宣布「中華人民共和國中央人民政府今天成立了！」，這一聲令下，標示著中國結束了長期的戰亂和動蕩，迎來了民族獨立、人民解放的新時代。那我問你，你知道中國這76年來的發展嗎？ 同學B：我當然知道啦！步入21世紀，我們的祖國發生了翻天覆地的變化。自1979年改革開放開始，中國以驚人速度實現了經濟飛躍，現已成為世界第二大經濟體。從高速鐵路覆蓋全國，到5G技術領先全球，從載人航天到深海探測。我們在科技創新方面均有重大突破。加上九月初的閱兵，各項武備及方隊，均展現我國軍事方面的新領域。此外，新能源和環保產業蓬勃發展，為可持續發展注入強大動力。 同學A：不過，偉大的祖國依然面臨許多複雜的挑戰。一方面，全球經濟形勢不穩定，中美貿易戰讓中國的發展放緩，另一方面，西方為中國打造的晶片技術壁壘也令科技創新面臨壓力，你知道在這樣的時代背景下，作為年輕一代的我們，應該怎樣做呢？ 同學B：當然知道啦！我們應該深刻認識自己的責任和使命。培養良好的品德修養，保持愛國情懷和社會責任感，積極傳承中華文化。我們也要關心國家大事，了解國際形勢，增強法治意識和公民意識，成為有擔當的國家棟樑。當然，回應本月學校主題，律己自強，只有嚴於律己，他日才可成為有用之人，貢獻國家。 Chinese History Club

早晨，今日我想問一問大家，特別是中一同學，有否在一樓近小賣部的樓梯邊，發現一幅油畫，上面寫上徐甘弟大呢？大家又有否聽過她的名字？今天，我想同大家分享她的故事。 徐甘弟大，大家當然不認識，但數學中的幾何 – Geometry，數學書應該會見過。原來中國在明朝時，傳教士利瑪竇和中國大儒徐光啟已一同翻譯西學書籍，當中他們更合譯了一書，名叫《幾何原本》。而徐光啟的孫女，便是徐甘弟大了。而徐氏一家是天主教徒，因此徐甘弟大便是她的領洗後的名字，她一生樂善好施，對教會的貢獻甚大，被後世稱為「中國女柱石」。在她身上，除了見證了慈愛，亦體現到自律的精神。 她的一生努力幫助神父傳福音，以手工與節儉，將省下的金錢幫助教會。她天天在家中刺花繡綿，再拿出去賣，以供養教士、救濟窮人、建聖堂祈禱。因此，在上海松江一帶，便先後建造了大堂九十座、小堂四十座，都是徐甘弟大贊助而成的。 透過徐甘弟大的事跡，我們可以看到一位女子的堅持、自律，只是單靠做刺繡，便可以供養教士，甚至建造教堂。因此，同學們，希望大家不要看輕今天的自己，只要大家自律、自強，終能有一番成就。 Ms Chan KY
