In Philippians 4:6-7, we read “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
保祿宗徒提醒我們：「你們什麼也不要掛慮，只在一切事上，以懇求和祈禱，懷著感謝之心，向天主呈上你們的請求；這樣，天主那超乎各種意想的平安，必要在基督耶穌內固守你們的心思念慮。」(斐4:6-7)
As a Catholic school, guided by the principles of prayer as in our motto from St Benedict, ‘Pray and Work’, students went forth to take the 2023 HKDSE after years of challenges, ones that obviously made them stronger.
藉著校訓「祈禱與勤奮」，崇德學生於聖本篤的格言與精神下成長，即使經歷疫情挑戰，依然遇強愈強，於2023年文憑試中考獲卓越的成績。

This year, our overall Level 4 or above rate is 76.5%, and Level 5 or above rate is 37.2%, which are both new records for Shung Tak. This also means that for every 3 subjects Shungtakians sat in the 2023 HKDSE, they obtained Level 5 or above in at least 1 subject.
今年，崇德在文憑試的成績中刷新多項紀錄。本校中六學生整體考獲4等或以上成績的比率為76.5%，考獲5等或以上成績更高達37.2%。換言之，崇德人在每應考三科文憑試科目中，就至少有一個科目能獲取5等或以上成績。
For the core subjects, our Shungtakians recorded an outstanding 80% with Level 4 or above while ALL of our S6 students obtained Level 3 or above in English Language. 95% of them also achieved Level 3 or above in Chinese Language while ALL scored Level 2 or above in Mathematics and Liberal Studies.

With a language-rich environment, diversified language learning programmes, dedicated teachers and motivated students, our S6 graduates continued to fly high in the public exam, especially in the language subjects. Our Level 4 or above rate for Chinese Language stands at 72%, while for English Language our students achieved 80% – both new records this year! Not only that, we also reached a Level 5 or above rate of 29% and 32% for Chinese and English respectively. Shungtakians are simply unstoppable, aren’t they?
憑著良好的語言氛圍、多元化的語言學習課程、循循善誘的老師和主動學習的學生，我們的中六學生在公開考試中繼續飛躍前進，於語文科的表現尤其出色，成績再創新高﹗今年，本校中文科考獲4級或以上的考生達72%，英文科更達80%。不僅如此，中文科和英文科考獲5級或以上的比率分別為29%和32%，成績斐然﹗

Among all our wonderful students, 6L Alva Tang attained the best overall result of 3 Level 5** (Chinese Language, Mathematics (Compulsory Part), Physics) and 4 Level 5* (English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics (Algebra and Calculus)). 6L Dante Ng came close with 3 Level 5** (Mathematics (Compulsory Part), Economics, Mathematics (Algebra and Calculus)) and 3 Level 5* (Chinese Language, English Language, Physics). 6J Hayley Chan also attained 3 Level 5** (Chinese Language, Liberal Studies, Chinese History) and 2 Level 5 (English Language and Chinese Literature).
在我們優秀的考生中，6L鄧智滔考獲本年最佳成績，他在中國語文、數學必修部分及物理考獲5**；並於英文、生物、化學及數學延伸單元二中考獲5*。6L吳雨潼於數學必修部分、經濟及數學延伸單元二考獲5**，於中國語文、英文及物理考獲5*。6J陳海琪於中國語文、通識教育及中國歷史考獲5**，於英文及中國文學考獲5等。

Road to University Not Just for Some
These amazing results have not only proven the success of the education we provide, but also opened more doors for our S6 graduates.99% scored Level 2 or above in both languages and at least 3 other subjects that they are eligible for sub-degree programmes and civil service appointments. 95% also attained the minimum requirements for university degree programme admission. And here’s the cherry on top – nearly 70% of our students scored 24 marks or more in their Best 6 subjects. Well done, Shungtakians!
輝煌的成績不僅是對崇德教育的肯定，也為崇德人開拓前路。99%的考生在中英文科及其他至少三科中取得2等或以上成績，符合申請副學位課程和公務員職位的資格。95%的考生還達到了大學學位課程的最低入學要求。最值得驕傲的是接近70%的考生考獲最佳6科24分或以上的佳績。

Albeit all the challenges this year, we at Shung Tak have continued to do our best to open doors of opportunity for Shungtakians. For our S6 students, it is very encouraging to see their excellent HKDSE results have enabled 92% of them to be eligible for university degree programme admission, and 100% of them eligible for sub-degree programmes and civil service appointments. Nearly half of our students also scored 24 marks or more in their Best 6 subjects. Good job and congratulations!
儘管今年面臨種種挑戰，崇德仍盡力為崇德人打開大學之門。本年度92%中六學生考獲基本升讀大學學位課程資格； 100%學生符合升讀副學位及投考公務員資格；接近一半的學生在最佳六科中取得24分或以上成績，表現令人欣喜及鼓舞。
This year, Shungtakians attained Level 5 or above in nearly a quarter of the papers sat. The overall percentage of Level 4 or above is more than 60%.
崇德人本年在近四分之一的科目中達到5等或以上，整體成績取得4等或以上的學生超過60%。
Our students have once again demonstrated their strong language abilities in both English and Chinese. In every five Shungtakians, one of them attained Level 5 or higher in the English Language subject. The percentage of Level 5 or above even reaches 24% for Chinese Language!

Our Class of 2022 have faced an epic journey like that of many biblical figures that were called upon by God, like Moses leading his people out of slavery. The students have journeyed through COVID-19, online learning, hybrid learning and even a change in examination syllabus. But all these challenges were learning opportunities that have made them stronger. The results clearly show that in spite of those difficult times, they were ultimately guided by God.
本屆畢業生就像聖經中許多被天主召叫的人物一樣，有著不一樣的經歷，如梅瑟帶領以色列民離開奴隸生活，學生們則經歷了新冠肺炎、網上學習、混合學習模式，甚至考試大綱的改變等挑戰。但這些挑戰皆是學習的機會，磨練令他們變得更強大。縱使荊棘滿途，崇德人得到天主的帶領，終能跨越難關，收穫佳績。

Good exam results aren’t everything – but they are certainly something to be celebrated for our students, their parents and the school. Good exam results are a great help for our students as they move from secondary school to other pathways like university and eventually on to finding jobs.
And this year, WHAT A YEAR! There is so much more to celebrate as our Class of 2021 has overcome all adversities and disruptions of the past two years AND BROKE RECORDS! Each and every single student of the Class of 2021 has demonstrated resilience, flexibility and perseverance. WE must certainly congratulate them for seeing the journey through and demonstrating their resilience in overcoming all the challenges. Those lessons learned amidst all the uncertainties will provide them a strong foundation on which they can have a better footing as they move forward to pursue their dreams and passions.
We thank God for our Class of 2021, and we ask Him to continue showering them all with His blessings as they move forward in their journey of learning.
今天對於崇德的學生、家長和學校而言，絕對是值得慶祝和鼓舞的一天。本屆崇德畢業生在準備考試的過程中雖遇上疫情的挑戰及重重的困難，但憑著不懈的努力和堅持，在逆境中不斷自強，於本屆文憑試中打破多項紀錄，考獲優異的成績！

Breaking Records in HKDSE 2021:
2021年文憑試打破本校多項紀錄
73.5 % of our students scored Level 4 and above and the results get better also with Level 5 and above with more than a third of subjects taken making that mark. Records were also broken for Level 3 and above with our best performance in this Level since the inception of the HKDSE.
本年度共有73.5%學生考獲四等或以上之成績；超過三分一學生考獲五等或以上之成績，考獲三等或以上之成績亦創新高，同樣打破本校歷屆文憑試紀錄。
Compared to the figure of 42.2% among all day school candidates, 92.3% of our students are eligible for university admission, with a record breaking 74% of them obtaining 20 marks or more in their Best 5 subjects. Records were also broken for students obtaining Level 4 in at least 5 subjects, with nearly two-thirds of the student population contributing to this figure.
本年度92.3%學生考獲基本升讀大學學位課程資格，遠超全港的42.2%；74%學生的最佳5科成績超過20分；64%學生取得最佳6科超過24分的佳績；接近三分二學生考獲最佳5科四等或以上之成績，表現屬歷年之冠。
This year, 9 Shungtakians attained Level 5** in Chinese Language which is very much higher than the Hong Kong wide figure of 1.1%. In total, nearly one-third of our students got Level 5 or above in this subject. As for English Language, nearly 70% of our students scored Level 4 or above and the Level 5 or above percentage is 27.6%. In other words, in every four Shungtakians, at least one of them attained Level 5 or higher in the subject.
本年度共有9名崇德人在中國語文科取得5**的佳績，遠超全港的1.1%，接近三分一學生考獲五等或以上之成績；英文科接近70%學生考獲四等或以上之成績，27.6%學生考獲五等或以上之成績，換言之，即每四名崇德人便有一位考獲五等或以上之成績。

CONTINUING TO GLORIFY GOD WITH OUR EFFORTS AND TALENTS
2020年文憑試再創佳績 — 以勤奮與潛能榮耀天主
At Shung Tak, we follow our school motto ‘Ora et Labora (Pray and Work)‘ and working to empower our students to do their best in academic pursuits and glorify the Creator with their work. This year again proved that we continue to work towards this mission with nothing in the way to stop us. Despite the influence of the pandemic, Shungtakians have showed their strong determination to thrive academically and to use their talents and potentials to glorify God.
Congratulations to all our S6 graduates on the outstanding results they have achieved! This year, 77.5% of our students obtained a Level 4 or above in English Language, which is a record high since the introduction of HKDSE. Well done, Shungtakians! You have certainly made your family, your school and God proud! Talents bestowed to you have been tested, you ran the race and can now can enjoy the fruits of the work.
Congratulations especially to 6L Thomas Au Yeung, for attaining Level 5** in Mathematics (Compulsory Part), Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics (Algebra and Calculus); Level 5* in Chinese Language and Liberal Studies; and Level 5 in English Language!
May God continue to provide His love and strength to all our S6 graduates as they move forward on whatever pathway they decide. May He grant each of them His grace so that they have the wisdom to discern as they walk forward to as bilingual, independent thinking and socially aware citizens who play a positive role in the ever-changing, culturally diverse and challenging world.
