At the Service Learning and Moral & Civic Education Committee, we believe that cultivating the concept of servant leadership and Catholic core values is essential for developing responsible and compassionate citizens. We promote the idea of servant leadership, where individuals lead by serving others and putting the needs of others before their own. This helps students develop empathy, compassion, and a strong sense of social responsibility, which are crucial qualities for becoming effective leaders.
In addition, we also emphasise the importance of Catholic Core Values, which include Love, Family, Life, Justice, and Truth. These values are integral to our mission of promoting community service and developing responsible citizens. We encourage students to embody these values in their daily lives, both in school and in their communities. By promoting love, life, and truth, we hope to instill in our students a strong moral compass and a deep sense of purpose that will guide them throughout their lives.
Through various activities such as the Volunteer Training Programme, social services, collecting Social Service Hours Records, and volunteer programmes, we aim to provide students with opportunities to learn about servant leadership and Catholic core values. We encourage them to reflect on their experiences and think critically about how they can apply these values in their daily lives. Our hope is that by promoting these concepts, we can inspire our students to become responsible and compassionate leaders committed to making a positive difference in the world.
With the collective effort of all Shungtakians, we are proud to announce that we have been awarded the Caring School Award.
