To become the best version of yourself

The skill of self-discipline is one of the most important life skills that everyone should develop. If we don’t cultivate it, many problems may arise, such as health issues, clutter, and overwhelming stress. However, before taking action, we often struggle to find the motivation to begin thinking critically about ourselves.

Most of us don’t want to think about our lack of discipline, let alone take action to improve. So, how do we find the motivation to start? Motivation comes from the realization of and reflection on reality. Look around you—whether it’s unfinished homework or a messy desk. All the problems you’ve been avoiding and neglecting with excuses are what lead to a lack of discipline. Ignoring these problems will only result in more pain.

Once you realize you are causing yourself this pain, you may find the heartfelt intention to stop it. This is how you begin changing your bad habits and developing self-discipline. After this realization, you can formulate a plan for where to start improving. You will slowly progress through the discomfort of change and get better over time, until you thoroughly grasp the concept of self-discipline.

Before we start bettering ourselves, we must understand the purpose: to create a better version of ourselves. Keep this in mind as you work on your journey to self-improvement, and your efforts will reward you.
