The theme of this month is embracing challenges. Today we are going to share with you the story of Forrest Gump, a fictional character who encounters a lot of difficulties in life but is able to tackle them well.
Forrest was born with strong legs but a crooked spine and therefore he was forced to wear leg braces which made walking difficult and running nearly impossible. He also had a relatively low I.Q. of 75. He sometimes couldn’t understand what others said, and he always did things which would lead himself to terrible troubles. As a result, he suffered a lot, not only was he treated unequally, but he also lost what he owned. Yet, Forrest could bounce back every time. He knew that when there was a challenge, there was a chance.
When Forrest was injured in the Vietnam War, he didn’t feel devastated but was positive enough to discover his talents in table tennis. Therefore, he began to practise table tennis and was eventually invited to China because of his outstanding performance. His story inspired us that we should never give up when facing challenges. Remember, God always leaves us chances and hope when we are in difficult situations. Just believe in yourself and be brave to embrace challenges in life. We will surely become better and strong ones after overcoming different challenges.
