Time flies, every day now feels like a countdown, especially for us, Form 6 students. Looking back at these 6 years in ShungTak, we are truly grateful for how we have been taught so much about being kind. Good morning, we are 6M, today, we will be sharing with you ‘love is kind’. We can see how to be kind just by observing our learning environment, teachers, classmates, and everyone here in ShungTak.
Teachers in ShungTak sets great examples of being kind. From Miss Hui enduring our late submission of homework, Miss Lee asking us to FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS tirelessly, Mr. Wu trying his best to spark our interest in math by telling us tons and tons of bad jokes, sorry, math is still not boring, to Mr. Samson Wong constantly telling us that we can make it. Our teachers are the best examples of how kindness can be achieved very easily, through showing love. Loving us to give us so many chances, loving us to keep our smiles on our faces, and loving us to help us keep going. Loving is kind.
Our classmates are also role models for us to learn. Reminding one another when we have pre mock tests and uniform tests tomorrow or today, and everyone just immediately switches to the full-on panic mode or showing us what today’s homework is or just simply talking to you when you are facing any kind of difficulties. Caring and helping one another is an alternative way to show kindness, that we care for each other, and we can help each other. Caring is kind.
Without our principal, we won’t be reminded that I AM POSSIBLE, DARE TO DREAM BIG, or CHASE YOUR DREAMS, she sets goals for us to achieve. Imagine without our janitors who keep our school clean, hearing screams from seeing insects and cockroaches will be a norm and the toilets will be smellier than the water from the water dispenser on the 6th floor. Without staff in the general office, we will suffer from all sorts of disorganization, they help us a lot behind the scenes. Therefore, they owe us the ultimate way to show kindness, to be grateful, because, without them, we can’t enjoy such a harmonious learning environment. Being grateful is kind.
In our six years in ShungTak, we have learned a lot, like the PE shirt does not need to be tucked into pants even though it’s written in school rules, there are still things we don’t understand, for example, why is there no Putonghua for our day, why aren’t F1 classrooms locate at 6th, given that they are always energetic. Still, teachers, classmates, and everyone in ShungTak taught us all together the most significant lesson that we should keep in mind, which is to be kind. They taught us that we should show our kindness by loving, caring, and being grateful to others and we shall forever keep this in our hearts, love is kind.
