Good morning. We are the Students’ Union Hestiuz. The theme of this month is love, your love towards friends, family, but also teachers. Teachers have displayed great and immeasurable love to all of us. They give all they have while expecting very little in return. Since today is the respect teacher’s day, we figured this would be the perfect day to talk about how teachers have shown great love towards us, their students.
I’m sure everyone has heard of the name Helen Keller. A famous American author, perhaps she is well-known for being born blind and deaf. Her academic accomplishments, being the first deaf-blind person to graduate from college, is a testament to the success of education. Her story continues to inspire millions worldwide, especially the disabled. However, as much as we praise Hellen Keller, the same should be said to her teacher, Anne Sullivan.
Anne Sullivan began teaching Hellen Keller in 1887. Imagine teaching a deaf and blind six-year-old how to read and write while being visually impaired yourself, that is Anne Sullivan. However, she overcame all odds and became, perhaps, one of the best teachers who ever lived. Despite the barriers that were created due to Helen and her defects, Anne achieved the extreme and she singlehandedly tutored the girl who would become a world wonder and icon on Earth.
Students, bear in mind that teachers always love us despite the circumstances. Therefore, it is just right that we would do our very best to return the favor.
