Parent’s Love

At the time, the writer of the story was 14 years old, his mother had suddenly become very ill; she had frequent medical and mobility difficulties, she literally couldn’t support herself. The writer thought she was invincible and would just get over it. His mother battled the illness for two year without ever being admitted to a hospital. All the while, she tries to be a regular mother, making him lunch and assisting him with his schoolwork…

However, the writer sometimes becomes enraged with her mother just because he is unable to complete his assignment. The writer’s mother eventually grew ill to the point that she needed medical equipment in her room. One night, the writer’s mum gets up to grab a glass of water but she accidently slipped from her bed and shattered 2 vertebrae. After that accident, she had to stay in the hospital for two months and is becoming sicker day by day. However, she still does the mum-duties like preparing his school lunches. Even though she hardly has enough energy to get out of bed, she still makes writer’s lunch.

One day, the writer got called out of class and there was a taxi waiting for the writer. His principal told him, “The school is here for you,” but he didn’t really understand. The writer was then transported to the emergency room at the hospital. His mother was lying on the bed, smiling as she beheld the writer for the first time and taking her dying breath. After the writer’s mother passed away, he returned home and sobbed for hours in the kitchen before opening the fridge and seeing his school lunches for the following 3 days. The writer realized that his mother had actually spent all of her remaining energy to ensure that his son had lunch for the week.

From this story, we can see the love of the mother towards her own child. We may see our parents on a daily basis and believe that communicating with them is granted. There are, however, always some unforeseeable events. Therefore , you should always cherish every moment you spend with your own parents. Because, like the writer’s mother in the story, our parents are always the ones who will love us the most no matter what happens.
