說起「承擔責任」，我的腦子裏立時浮現出一個相信大家都很熟悉的畫面：同學，為甚麼你沒交功課呢？「今天沒你的課，沒帶呀﹗」「昨天晚上做完了，但沒把功課放進書包裏」「我跟我媽吵架的時候，她生氣把功課扔了」「家裏沒關窗，把工作紙給吹走了」幾乎你想到，想不到的理由，我也聽過。但很少會聽到同學說：「對不起，這是我的錯﹗」一個這樣小小的錯誤都不敢面對的人，他能夠去承擔更大的責任嗎？這些經歷，往往警惕我要教育學生、我的孩子必須勇於面對錯誤，承擔責任。 有一天晚上，我的女兒到了睡覺的時候才發現有一幅第二天要呈交的圖畫還沒有完成，她害怕老師責怪，哭著哀求我幫她完成，她那本來已經累得睜不開的眼睛更是紅腫，但是我還是硬下心腸的說：「要不你欠交，要不現在起來把它完成﹗」聽到我這樣說，她哭得更厲害了。這時候我跟她講了一個小故事：從前有個年輕人，犯下滔天大罪，跪在公堂之上，接受死刑之前，後悔不已，可惜為時已晚。跪在年輕人旁邊，哭得差點兒要昏過去的，是他的母親。「大人，求求你，給我孩子最後一次機會，我甚麼也願意為他做的，就算要我的命交換也可以。」這位母親淚流滿面，苦苦哀求，反而那位年輕人已經接受事實，他最後只有一個請求，就是跟母親說最後遺言。年輕人叫母親靠近一點，希望能夠在她耳邊說話。怎料母親一靠近，年輕人就狠狠的咬了母親耳朵一下，鮮血一滴一滴的落在地上。公堂之上，人人都很震驚，最錯愕的，當然是母親。年輕人對著母親痛罵：「就是你，就是你把我教成這樣的。我做錯甚麼，你也替我承擔，讓我不知後果，一錯再錯，如今是恨錯難返了﹗」我認為為自己的學業負責是尊重自己作為一名學生的表現呀﹗那天晚上，女兒做到很晚才睡，但總算把功課完成了。我不知道那幅圖畫老師最後給她怎樣的評價，但在「為自己的事負責」這一項，我會給她一個甲等。 作為母親，作為老師的我常把這小故事記在心中，時刻提醒自己，除了為了保住自己的耳朵，也是承擔自己作為教育者的責任呢﹗ Ms Wong KY3 November 2023
