中華人民共和國係係1949 年 10 月 1 日成立既，所以國慶日係為紀念新中國成立而設的節日。新中國成立初期，經歷左種種政治運動，係困難中慢慢修正，最終係1979年，由鄧小平提出「改革開放」 ，令中國逐步走上富強之路。時至今日，經過歷屆領導人既努力，現今中國已經係多方面獲得成就。 係經濟方面, 由1978至2018年間，中國國內生產總值增長了差唔多三十七倍。不但完成左改革開放早期定立既「三步走」目標，更成功令全國人民脫離貧窮。而且中國係國內生產總值（GDP）既世界排名，已經係全球第二位。 除咗係經濟方面成就卓越之外，係科技方面都有明顯的進步。例如中國自主研發的超級計算機「天河二號」和「神威·太湖之光」連續5年佔據全球超級計算機500強榜榜首。而最厲害既，當然係航天科技既成就啦，今年五月，「天問一號」火星探測器搭戴既祝融號火星車，已經成功登陸火星，展開探索。 係環境方面, 近年黎，中國着手解決空氣和水污染、垃圾堆積、荒漠化等環境問題，好多城市的空氣質量已經有明顯既好轉。而且係開發利用可再生能源方面，中國處於世界領先位置，特別係太陽能、風能和儲能技術等領域。另外，中國在植樹造林方面亦取得好大架進展，係全球減少二氧化碳排放上發揮左積極作用。未來中國可在垃圾轉化、可再生能源、造林綠化、有機農業、綠色環保建築等方面加速發展。 不過，中國未來面對既挑戰都唔少架，例如要面對人口老化問題，對外又有中美衝突。所以大家都要時刻裝備好自己，以迎接多變既時代。 中史學會 30 September 2021
