煉靈月的由來

煉靈月的由來

今天我們會跟大家介紹甚麼是「煉靈月」。天主教教會將十一月定為「煉靈月」,鼓勵眾人多為煉靈祈禱,亦提醒在世的人要好好善度信仰生活。 至於煉靈月的由來是怎樣呢?在很久以前,教會一直受到不同方面的迫害,直到第四世紀先結束;後來人們為了紀念這些被逼害的殉道者,所以慢慢成了為亡者祈禱的傳統與習慣,而教會都特別鼓勵我們多為煉獄中的靈魂祈禱。教會相信人離世後,並非第一時間可以進入天國,反而需要到煉獄反省自己生前的過錯,從中煉淨我們的靈魂,及後才可以回到天主的身邊。但是,煉獄中的靈魂已經不能再靠自己的力量,亦不知何時可以到天堂,所以他們便要藉聖人和我們的代禱,讓他們早日離開煉獄。這便是我們信徒經常所說的「諸聖相通功」。 在天主的恩寵助佑下,基督徒並非只有獨自一人走成聖之路。在「諸聖相通功」之中,信友無論已抵達天鄉、為補贖正在煉獄中,或是於現世的旅途上,眾人之間仍然憑住愛互相連繫。這份諸聖相通嘅助力,能夠讓仍在痛悔之中的罪人,更早得到有效的淨化。我們可以透過多誦唸玫瑰經,求聖母為亡者代禱;我們亦可以實踐克己的精神,進行愛德善工,為有需要的人服務,將這些奉獻全給已亡的弟兄姊妹。 在整個煉靈月中有兩個特別的節日,分別是在諸聖節及追思已亡節。教會訂下十一月一日為諸聖節,提醒我們都是受召成聖,而且聖人跟我們一樣,都曾在塵世下努力生活,並克服各種誘惑,於信仰中得到力量並繼續前進。而十一月二日的追思已亡節,我們會特別為已亡的親友祈禱及奉獻,求天主仁慈地垂允,使我們堅信基督從死者中復活,並殷切期望去世的靈魂都能獲得同樣的復活,進入永生,得享天堂的福樂。 天主教同學會3P Daniel Tham, Joe Sin 4L Crystal Choi, Paline Lee 3 November 2021
