Good morning, we are the representatives of blue house. This week’s theme is “Respect and strengthen oneself, maintain strict self-discipline”. Today we would like to share a story about a famous football player, Harry Maguire, to all of you.
Harry Maguire is a football player playing for Manchester United. He transferred to United with the highest fee for his position in 2019. However,it is a sad truth that his performance is not really up to standard, and so many people made fun of him and he was bullied by fans on social media. For example, he received emails from extreme fans threatening to detonate a bomb in his house if he refuses to leave Manchester United.
Although he was being threatened so many times, lost a lot of chances to play for the team, and his captaincy was even taken away by the manager, he has never given up. He insisted on doing his best while he trained and when he got to play for the team in the matches. His perseverance gradually gained admiration from the public. He also tried to perform well for the team, such as shooting the goal at the last minute when facing Lyon and helped the team to win. He is also known as the player with the most club spirit compared with the young players who are more arrogant and lazy.
Through this story, we can see the importance of respecting and strengthening oneself, and maintaining strict self-discipline. When facing criticism from the others,we must remain confident. We should not give up easily, and we need to keep working hard with stronger self-discipline to win the respect of others and achieve success.
