The theme of this month is faithfulness, and we would like to share a story in the Bible about Abraham, which is a good example of showing faithfulness while bringing you a deeper understanding of this topic today.
Imagine that you are called by God one day, and he asks you to leave where you originally are living and go to somewhere that you have never heard of, while promising that you can have a lot of rewards after going there, will you obey him? This is the question which Abraham faced 3,000 years ago.
However, despite how hard it would be for him to travel in a time with neither trains nor airplanes and how unreal all the promises seemed, Abraham still obeyed what God told him and finally got what he was promised, including sheeps, cattles and land which were enough for him for his whole life.
You may think that Abraham was very lucky to get such rewards from the above story. However, without a strong faithfulness to God and believing in what God had promised, he couldn’t have obeyed God and got what he was promised.
Maybe we do not have faith in God which is as strong as Abraham, but then, we can still try our best to follow the teachings in the Bible so that we not only can get closer to God, but also become a better person step by step.
