Let us begin our sharing with a simple question, what does love mean to you? Love can be a flowing stream, giving moisture to the land and washing away the impurities. It gives marine animals a home and offers them protection. God’s patient love towards our world has created this wonderful circle of life. It’s magical. Speaking of magic, the story of Harry Potter is also surrounded by love.
Which character in Harry Potter demonstrates ‘love is patient’ well? I believe many of you would agree that Molly Weasley, Ron’s mother is the one. Molly Weasley has a huge heart and she cares about everyone in the family and fiercely protects them when necessary. She warmly welcomes Harry and Hermione to her home and gives them as much love and affection as possible. Most importantly, during the final war in Hogwarts, she fights against one of the strongest villains so as to protect her daughter. These actions manifest her bravery, patience and love to her valuable family.
How about the main protagonist Harry? How does he show ‘love is patient’? While Dumbeldore has constantly reminded Harry that love is his most powerful weapon, the story proves him right. Harry’s love is unlimited, not only for his best friends, but for all his schoolmates and companions. No matter if Ron is up to any absurd things, Harry always gets his back. With everything Harry has encountered, the first emotion that comes up is always empathy. Harry has a kind heart, which he is willing to sacrifice himself in exchange for his friends’ lives. It is obvious that he is treating his friends with love patiently.
Stories can be reckless but the value behind is always worth learning. Despite the fact that we are not under Voldemort’s threat, we should still show our love with patience and illuminate the world with positivity and light. To your family, be patient, their constant nagging is just showing you care and concern. To your friends, be patient, do remind them if they go on the wrong path. Shungtakians, be patient and gentle. The world will surely be different if every single one of us does our little part well.
It is hoped that God will grant us wisdom and kindness to love the people around us.
