The angels and invisible, we cannot see them, each one of us has angels to protect us and we call them the guardian angels, the feast day is on October 2nd.
The word, angel means a function rather than a nature, because they are Spirit, they don’t have a body and they are in Heaven and always is a Spirit. They can only call angels when they deliver messages. Moreover, those who deliver messages of lesser importance are called angels; and those who proclaim messages of supreme importance are called archangel.
And so it was that not merely an angel, but the archangel Gabriel was sent to the Virgin Mary. It was only fitting that the highest angel should come to announce the greatest of all messages.
Some Angels are given a proper name to signify that they have the power to perform the ministry that God has given to them. Saint Michael means “Who is like God, Saint Gabriel is the Strength of God and Saint Raphael is the God’s Remedy.
As we read in the (Rev. 12:7 -10) Michael and his Angels fought against the dragon and the dragon, and his angels fought back. But they are not strong enough, and they lose their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down – that ancient serpent called the devil or Satan.
Saint Gabriel, who is God’s strength, was sent to Mary to announce the coming of the Lord of the heavenly powers, that she will be the mother of Jesus Christ.
Saint Raphael is God’s Remedy for when he touches Tobit’s eyes to cure him, he banishes the darkness of his blindness.
Saint Michael Prayer
Saint Michael the Archangel defends us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil;
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.
