But did you take action?

You might have already known what our responsibilities in different roles are. But did you take action?

Taking responsibilities involves keeping promises, completing tasks, and being responsible for the consequences of mistakes. Everyone should be responsible for the surroundings, for others, and for themselves. To shoulder responsibilities, let’s adopt the following attitudes.

The first attitude is to complete what needs to be done to the best of your ability. For example, fulfilling promises you make to yourself. Have you ever promised yourself to work harder when your academic performance cannot meet your expectations? Studying is not only a task we have to complete as a student, but sometimes, it is also a way to keep our promise of not disappointing ourselves again.

When a person’s identity changes, the responsibility also changes. As prefects, when our role is no longer an ordinary student , apart from our own responsibilities, we are also responsible for reminding other students to take their responsibilities. But when we encounter the unexpected ones, we will have to be responsible in another way.

The second responsible attitude is that when a task is not carried out properly, you are able to bear the consequences. Nothing is perfect. There are always times when the results are not ideal. Inevitably, sometimes accidents or obstacles may cause delays or missing tasks. Taking responsibilities is being brave to apologize and solve the problem immediately, as well as bear the consequences. People with a sense of responsibility are usually more likely to be forgiven and regain trust from others.

The only way to improve is to pursue excellence. By doing your best in everything you do, a responsible attitude will help you to improve and enhance your ability of solving problems and rising from failure. A responsible person can face mistakes and learn a lesson as well as pay a greater effort to improve, so that he or she will be less likely to make the same mistake again.

As difficult as it may seem, God is with us all the time helping us whenever we need. Let’s open our hearts and ask for God’s help to remind and empower us to take our responsibilities.
