Bonding among Shungtakians

What we have experienced these two days was amazing. We have gone through a prayer service, a handover ceremony, and a club orientation day. All these things came normal in the old days, but it becomes special this year. We eventually resume some sorts of whole school face-to-face events after one-and-a-half-year suspension period. I think most of you have been hunger for joining activities on campus.

It is thankful that our student leaders are always full of energy. I saw our club executives preparing the souvenir in the covered playground till 7 p.m. in their summer holiday. I saw the SU Scintilla working day-and-night in planning and setting up the club orientation day, as well as the prefects walking up and down leading different classes to the school hall. What an exhausting day yesterday was after finishing all their work in recruiting members. In the last session, all student leaders were standing together to take group photos. I could see nobody look tired, instead, all of them were high in spirit. From their smiling faces under their masks, I feel very confident that they are ready to enrich the school life of our Shungtakians through providing various creative activities.

What makes our leaders stay energetic all the time? It is the bonding among Shungtakians. We developed the connection between each of us in a way when we work together wholeheartedly. We are not going for our own good. We help each other like brothers and sisters. We share a common goal. That is “To serve, not to be served”. I truly hope that all Shungtakians, especially the S1 and S2 students who have missed much of their school life, can feel the earnest hearts of our student leaders. To learn, play and to help each other in Shung Tak.
