Responsibility is the theme of this month. I am sure a lot of you must have heard of this word, probably from your teachers or your parents. However, how many of you truly understand the meaning of responsibility, after being nagged by different people who try to nurture you to be a decent individual. Let us share a story with you all about having responsibility.
Once there was a boy named Alex who was addicted to video games when playing it all day and night.
One day, Alex’s parents gave him a fish pet to take care of to be his partner when they had their working trip. At first, Alex did not pay attention to the fish, not cleaning its tank and not feeding the fish. However, when his parents came back, Alex noticed that the fish died because he has done nothing instead of playing games.
He felt guilty and regretted his action of leaving the fish uncared. He confessed his misbehaviour to his parents and asked them to forgive him. His parents gave him a second chance of getting him another pet fish. This time, Alex researched how to provide the best care for the fish, planned a schedule to feed the fish and clean the tank.
With Alex’s actions taken to take care of the pet fish, the fish lived safely and Alex also learned the value of responsibility. Through this story, we can see that every action done by us has its consequence to catch up, responsibility always exists even we have not noticed it.
