One night, Samuel the deacon received an emergency call from one of the church members. When he arrived at the church member’s house, the whole house was in flames. Although the children’s father himself was burned by the fire, he returned to the house to rescue one of his children, and finally rescued his unconscious daughter from the fire.
The house and the hospital are ten kilometers away. Without any transportation, Samuel and father rushed to the hospital with the child. The two took turns holding the injured child. When one of them was tired from running, the other took over, carrying the child and continued running. They worked together and supported each other and finally arrived at the hospital. Both father and daughter were well treated and finally recovered completely.
As the Bible said “Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)
Therefore Shungtakians, we should learn from the story and the Bible quotes that solidarity can be useful in different aspects. Working together and building up bonding can greatly help in achieving greater success for all of us.
