A match and an ant nest

A British scientist put a match into an ant nest. At first, the ants in the nest were terrified and they rushed to the fire and sprayed formic acid one by one. But an ant can only spray little formic acid. As a result, countless ants were burnt in the fire. Less than a minute later, they finally put out the fire. The survivors immediately moved the bodies of their comrades to a nearby “cemetery”, covered with a thin layer of earth for burial.

One month later, the scientist did the same experiment again but the result contrasted sharply with the one before. He put a burning candle into the ant nest, but instead of pushing each other in chaos, this time, the ants banded together and went out in groups to put out the fire. The fire grew smaller and finally died out. And there’s only a few being burnt in fire or wounded.

What this story showed is solidarity. Without team spirit, without uniting together, it wouldn’t be so easy to put out the fire and again and history would repeat. They have learnt the importance of solidarity, and it leads them to success.

Shungtakians, always engrave the word solidarity on your mind, because as long as you can make good use of solidarity and cooperation, you are most likely to be successful in the end.
