Good morning, everyone, we are the representatives of the Biology club, and we would like to share a short story regarding humility.
One day, a young boy entered a chess competition, he had massive potential and defeated every opponent he came across, for each round won, he grew more and more pompous and arrogant, however it would cost him after the competition.
After he won the finals, he dared anyone in the audience to challenge him, of which an old man stood up and accepted this invitation, the young boy laughed and tried humiliating the old man, the old man still remained calm.
The match started, the young egomaniac decided that it was an easy match but was quickly proven wrong when all of his numerous gambits were countered or failed, as the match went on, he gradually made additional mistakes and errors until he was defeated, he felt humiliated and expected to be laughed at by the old man.
However, the old man complimented his skills and said he was a formidable opponent, and actually respected him a lot, the old man was trying to teach the young boy a lesson: When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom.
