On 4th March 2025, the sweet smell of pancakes filled every corner of our school as we celebrated Pancake Day. Traditionally held on the Tuesday before Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, this day, that is Tuesday, was the last opportunity to use up eggs and fats before the Lenten season began.
In the Lenten season, Christians needed to practice self-denial, fasting, and repentance.
CATSo members prepared delicious pancakes, drawing eager Shungtakians during lunch. The excitement peaked during a fun pancake-flipping competition featuring our principal and vice principals. Seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces was truly heartwarming.
More than just a tasty treat, Pancake Day was the beginning of the time of us to remember those who are less fortunate by making small sacrifices and donations.
We would like to thank all the teachers and students who purchased pancakes and supported the event. The funds raised have been donated to charity.
