On the 5th of April, standing on the stage of Queen Elizabeth Stadium filled me with excitement and nerves like I had never experienced before. I had the honour of performing in the Hong Kong International A Cappella Extravaganza 2025, a major annual concert held at Queen Elizabeth Stadium, organized by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups.
As a secondary school student representing Shung Tak in such a grand event, I felt truly honoured.
Working together with performers from other schools and building bonds with them throughout the process made the performance even more meaningful. Although strangers at first, through support and encouragement, we became as one.
After the final song, I felt proud — not just because of our performance, but because I had taken the step to embrace the opportunity to broaden my horizons. This experience taught me the importance of stepping out of my comfort zone and believing in myself. At first, I doubted whether I could do it, thinking I was just the leader of my school’s A Cappella team. But with team spirit and confidence, I was able to overcome.
Seeing my schoolmates in the audience made me feel touched and grateful. It was a night filled with passion, teamwork, music, and harmony.
I would like to encourage all Shungtakians: Never be afraid to try something new!
