On the 23rd February, we joined the “A Walk to Nurture Creation — 2025 Fund-raising Walkathon” organised by the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong. The aim of this walkathon was not only to raise funds for the construction of a new church in Tung Chung and to support Catholic cemeteries, but also to promote unity and reverence for all of God’s creation.
We all gathered outside Tung Chung station before the walkathon started. After all of us had arrived, we began our walk!
We followed the designated route to the Tung Chung Promenade and eventually reached the end of the Promenade.
During the walk, countless volunteers stationed at different locations guided us and cheered for us.
This activity was not just a walkathon for me; it also showed me how people are willing to sacrifice their own holiday to help the development of the church. It definitely required a lot of effort and dedication to make this meaningful event possible.
If there are activities like this next time, I’ll definitely be joining again!
