《愛・生命》微電影欣賞及分享會【第二輯】

By 1M Candace Lam

On 25 January, our school joined an event entitled 《愛・生命》微電影欣賞及分享會【第二輯】, organised by the Hong Kong Catholic Marriage Advisory Council and Ss Peter and Paul Church. It was a meaningful and touching experience that taught us a lot about life and faith. During the event, we watched two short films that were both very inspiring. The first film was about a son torn between his responsibilities to his new family and his love for his parents, who were planning to move to the UK.

This short film made me reflect deeply. Taking care of our family is an act of love, and taking responsibility draws us closer to God. We must treasure our time with family and be grateful for those who care for us. My favourite film was the second one, which told the story of a middle-aged man who suddenly lost his job. As a father and a husband, he had to support his family, but he kept failing to find work. This made me think about how hard life can be and how easy it is to feel hopeless. However, the film showed us that we should never give up. One sentence in the film really touched my heart: “When God closes a door for you, He will open a window for you.” It reminded me that God always has a plan for us, even when we do not understand it. This also reminded me of my own experience. Once, during a Chinese debate competition when we were losing, I did not want to give up. I told my classmates, “Do not give up easily; God is always with us!” In the end, we won surprisingly. That was my most unforgettable experience of perseverance. After watching these two films and joining the sharing session, I learnt a lot. These lessons are not just for one day, but for every day.
