On 10 October, S2 students attended an OLE event featuring an inspiring lecture on the theme of love and life. The guest speaker was Ms. Connie from the Hong Kong Catholic Marriage Advisory Council, who shared moving insights and the perspective of the Catholic faith on the value of life. Ms. Connie presented various scientific studies demonstrating that many babies born with disabilities often defy medical expectations and live much longer than initially predicted. Furthermore, people who grow up with such diagnoses frequently lead fulfilling lives—in many cases, expressing more joy and appreciation for life than the average person. Life is a gift from God, and we are never in a position to take that life away. It was a meaningful and eye-opening session that reminded us of the importance of compassion and respect.
