High-Altitude Adventure: Overcoming Fears Together 1J Jayden Lai

On the afternoon of 6 March, all S1 students attended an interesting OLE activity: high-altitude adventure training. We took a coach to Ma Wan for this challenge. The staff members patiently explained various aspects of the activity, and then we began our adventure. Many of us were trying these kinds of activities for the first time, so we felt quite nervous. Some of us are also afraid of heights or have acrophobia, so this was definitely not an easy task. After listening to the instructors’ instructions and, most importantly, having all our classmates cheer for one another, most of us attempted the climb. There were two heights: 4 metres and 8 metres. Many of us mustered the courage to try the more challenging one. During that time, the place was full of laughter, encouragement, and screams.

We would like to thank Shung Tak for giving us this opportunity to push our limits and overcome our fears. Beyond the outdoor high-altitude challenge itself, this experience encouraged us to support one another and, most importantly, to challenge ourselves with new opportunities. Challenges may be intimidating at first, but the lessons we learn are more rewarding than we might initially imagine.
