Global Exposure Day 2026: A Vibrant Celebration of Cultures

On Monday, 2 February 2026, our school hosted an enriching Global Exposure Day, organised by the English Department with support from the English for All Day Committee. In collaboration with Inter Cultural Education, the event gave students a wonderful opportunity to explore diverse cultures from around the world through interactive workshops, meaningful conversations, and interesting games and activities. The event was timed to take place just before our S6 students began their study leave in preparation for the HKDSE examinations, giving them a chance to try something different before kicking into study mode.

Throughout the day, different classes took part in a variety of engaging activities. Students learnt lively dances including Silk Road Dance, Capoeira, and Bollywood dance, mastering steps and rhythms from these vibrant traditions. The Piñata Workshop introduced participants to this colourful cultural tradition, where everyone crafted their own miniature piñatas. In the Ghanaian Culture Workshop, students discovered more about Ghanaian heritage while making beautiful bracelets.

Some senior students participated in special dialogue sessions with international guests from countries such as Ghana, Kyrgyzstan, Belgium, Germany, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Philippines, Venezuela, Gambia, Myanmar, and others. S6 students explored the theme of ‘Adulting’ in different cultures, while S4 students focused on social etiquette across these diverse backgrounds. The room was filled with laughter and conversation as guests chatted with our students and shared cultural insights.

The day was further boosted by a lively Global Village event held on the badminton court during lunchtime, featuring six booths representing a range of countries and cultures. Each stall was run by enthusiastic guests from the respective countries, who ran fun games and shared cultural insights. Our English Ambassadors were also on duty throughout to assist our guests and to stamp students’ boarding passes as they travelled around visiting the different booths.

Everyone had a fantastic time immersing themselves in these global experiences, sharing laughs, learning new skills, and broadening their perspectives. Global Exposure Day was a resounding success, fostering greater cultural awareness and appreciation across our school community. A heartfelt thank you to our special guests and our English Ambassadors who helped make the day so memorable.
