The Christmas Prayer Service was held on 19 December, with Rev. Albert Suryadi from Ss. Peter and Paul Church as the celebrant. The service was a time for Shungtakians to gather and pray during Advent. In the homily, Father Albert reminded us of the significance of baby Jesus being born in a manger—the message behind it is that He is with us, especially the broken-hearted and those in distress. During the prayer service, the Catholic Society played a mini movie featuring interviews with students and teachers about how they plan to spend their Christmas. The film aimed to inspire students to reflect on how we should spend our time during Christmas and, more importantly, to find hope even when the world seems hopeless. Our prayers are with all those who are suffering and facing challenges, and we sincerely pray that God will grant them grace and call more people to bring His light to them. “Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a saviour has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord.” – Luke 2:10-11 Have a Merry Christmas!
