BEGINNING A NEW ACADEMIC YEAR By 5L Crystal Choi
1st of September is a new start for all of us.
This year is a special year for students since we only had a short summer holiday to get prepared for this new academic year 2022-2023. Because of the pandemic, it would still continue to be challenging during this period of time but with God’s help we shall continue to live and learn.
In the Prayer Service on 1st September, we prayed to God to grant us courage and wisdom to overcome all the obstacles that we may face in the future. More important was the reminder to us all to set up a new learning goal for this year. May God bless us to follow what Father Li said ‘to see, to judge, to act, to review’ so as to achieve our goals, to chase our dreams and be the salt of the earth and the light of the world.
Being an active part of this celebration as a helper of the Opening Prayer Service was indeed a blessing for me. Meeting and working together with the team during the summer break was indeed a wonderful learning journey.
Remember also that ‘Practice makes perfect’. With all the upcoming challenges in this year, remember to take them all as practices of learning new lessons. With the guidance of God, we shall OVERCOME. At this beginning of the school year, Lord, bless all of our students and teachers to grow in the Catholic core values, love, truth, justice, family and life. Grant us the perseverance to never give up on our pursuit and dreams. When we are facing difficulties, give us the faith tobelieve in your guidance and love. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen. Ss. Peter and Paul, pray for us.
