On December 9th, our Mock Trial team gathered at Yuen Long Merchants Association Secondary School (YLMASS) for a friendly match. This event provided a valuable opportunity for all team members to take on an unknown team, especially as we prepare for our upcoming Side by Side Mock Trial competition, which marks our first game of the year.
The friendly match was particularly beneficial for our new members, allowing them to gain firsthand experience of what a Mock Trial competition entails. Both teams learned a great deal from the match as we reflected on our performances. As a witness, which is the role I play in the Mock Trial, I now feel better prepared, having gained insights into potential questions our opponents might raise about my testimony.
Our team members, the barristers, were able to make prompt adjustments and explore alternative strategies. Moreover, experiencing the nerves and handling them in the friendly match has equipped us all with the mental resilience to face challenging situations calmly. I am confident that this experience will benefit all participants as we continue to dedicate ourselves to preparation for the day. With the support of team members and our coaches, we will face the challenge with great confidence.
