The Feast of the Holy Family Carnival 2024

A Memorable Experience at The Feast of the Holy Family Carnival

By 5J Jacky Chung

The 29th December was the Feast of the Holy Family and Ss. Peter and Paul Church ran a carnival for that day. As a volunteer, I was tasked with setting up the booth with my teammates. Our game involved throwing bean bags into holes and I must say that our stall was popular. When the Carnival began, we had many participants from the Philippines, Africa, and Hong Kong, as well as elderly participants. Both children and adults enjoyed playing our game and when they successfully got all three bean bags into the holes, they all squealed with delight simultaneously. Their smiles, happiness, and cheerfulness had a tremendous impact on me and I realised that volunteering not only benefits others but also enhances our own emotions. There is truly joy when we do something good for others.
