Guide Light Orientation Day On June 26th, around 30 students attended the Guide Light Orientation Day. Guide Light is one of the peer support groups at Shung Tak, responsible for guiding S.1 students to adapt to the new syllabus and learning environment.
Guide Light members also organise mental health activities on campus to foster a caring and positive environment. During the activity, participants deepened their understanding of Guide Light and the group members got to know one another better. In the warm-up activity, students had to guess each other’s names based on the descriptions provided by their peers, which helped them become acquainted and establish a mutual understanding.
The next step was a personality assessment test. After participants completed the questionnaires, they were divided into four groups, each with distinct traits, strengths, and weaknesses. The teacher then analyzed the characteristics of the different personality types, emphasizing that everyone is a unique combination of various qualities. By understanding different perspectives, the participants can learn to address problems more effectively.
In the afternoon, the students attended a lecture by a leadership training specialist. In this session, the essential qualities of a good leader were covered. The lecture also discussed various interview techniques including how to make a positive impression. All this equips members to better guide the Secondary 1 students in adapting to campus life.
