The 13th of February was a special day for us as it marks the start of our journey to becoming God’ s catechumens. After several months of exploring Catholic teachings and values in our Catechism Classes held after school on Thursdays, the fifteen of us had the invaluable opportunity to join the sacred ceremony, the Rite of Acceptance, marking the official start of our spiritual journey. During the ceremony, we declared our commitment and faith in continuing to learn and follow God’s teachings, and to embrace the blessings from the Catholic community along with other Catholic teachers and students. Attending the Rite of Acceptance was a memorable experience for me, as the Mass was offered for us. It asks for God’s grace and strength for each of us to have the will to uphold our faith as prepare ourselves to become God’s loyal servants. It was a heartwarming moment when the Catholic witnesses drew the sign of the cross on our foreheads, officially welcoming us as catechumens into the Catholic community. This filled us with grace, assuring us that we would find support on our journey and be guided to the way, the truth, and the life. Continue in your prayers for us to deepen our faith.
