From 9 to 10 July, I attended the Leadership Training Camp at Pak Tam Chung with my classmates and teachers.
Our exciting adventure started at school, where we met our trainers and formed three different groups of participants. We got to learn about each other through different ice-breaking and leadership training games.
When we got to Pak Tam Chung, we competed with each other in teamwork games such as dodgeball. After that, we had dinner and prepared ourselves for the night walk. The night walk started simply. We slowly ascended through the hiking trail with not many challenges on our way. However, difficulties started to present themselves as we hiked further. There were branches blocking our paths, mud covering our shoes, and rocks that made the trail harder to traverse. We even came across a river, which challenged our abilities to stay calm and steady and to work together to get across. Eventually, after four gruelling hours of walking, we successfully returned to our dorms safe and sound to enjoy a well-deserved night of rest.
Day 2 started off with a bang. We had breakfast then changed into our swimwear for water activities. We were tasked to build a raft with wooden sticks and ropes that could float. We were also under a time constraint. Therefore, we had to use our teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with groupmates. After assembling the raft, we had to work together and row ourselves from one side of the pool to the other. Our last challenge was to have everyone on the raft stand up. Unfortunately, my teammates failed to balance and we all fell into the pool.
In conclusion, this leadership training camp was an unforgettable experience that had laughs, tested teamwork, and helped us develop into future leaders.
