Stepping Out of Comfort Zones: Guidance Activity Week 2026

From 7 to 10 July, sixteen Shungtakians took part in this year’s Guidance Activity Week. The four-day programme gave students a chance to learn outside the classroom through fun, hands-on challenges and group activities.

A Week of Fun and Discovery
The week started with an AI Board Game Experience, where students played interactive games to improve their strategy, communication, and problem-solving skills. Next came an exciting Escape Room Challenge. Working together against the clock, students solved puzzles and found clues, showing that teamwork and listening are essential to solving difficult problems.
On 9 July, students headed outdoors for Tree Orienteering. Surrounded by nature, they practised map-reading and observation skills while learning more about the local environment. To end the week, students joined a relaxing Handwritten Art Calligraphy Workshop, where they learned artistic writing skills and expressed their creativity through art.
“The activities showed me that trying new things isn’t scary, it’s where the real fun and growth happen!” — Student Participant

Building Skills and Friendships
Throughout the week, students bravely stepped out of their comfort zones. Whether exploring nature, solving escape room codes, or learning calligraphy, they faced every activity with energy and curiosity.
Beyond learning new skills, the best part of the week was the friendships made. By solving problems together, students built strong bonds, improved their teamwork, and grew more confident in their own abilities.
Guidance Activity Week 2026 was a great success! A big thank you to the instructors and students who made this week so special. We look forward to seeing our students bring this positive, can-do attitude into the new school year!
