On February 15th, our team participated in the first match of the Mock Trial competition where our participants took on various roles, such as attorneys, witnesses, and defendants.
I was tasked with the role of an attorney and learned that the most important qualities for me as an attorney or a lawyer are to remain calm and steadfast. But then more specifically, as defence attorneys, we had to find ways to advocate our client, the defendant.
Other teammates who portrayed the witnesses delivered outstanding performances, embodying their roles with remarkable skill and making significant contributions to the outcome of the competition.
From this competition, I have come to deeply appreciate the significance of teamwork. Throughout this experience, my synergy with my teammates has flourished, as we united in pursuit of a common goal. The dedication we displayed for the team was genuinely inspiring. Furthermore, we gained a wealth of legal knowledge and insights into the roots of crime, and for us to seek truth through the law. The pursuit of justice and truth should be our guiding principles in life.
Heartfelt gratitude to the barristers, our teachers, and my wonderful teammates. The mentorship provided by our real-life barristers and the encouragement given by them and our teachers made our success possible.
We all eagerly look forward to participating in future mock trials and bringing even more victories to our team!
