When Shungtakians walked into the Pastel Art Workshop, organised by the Guidance Team, the usual buzz of the school day quickly gave way to a welcoming calm. The atmosphere settled into a quiet focus as participants dipped their fingers into soft pastel powders, gently blending colours onto paper to craft their own peaceful landscapes.
The session offered a particularly meaningful breather for the S6 students. With public exams looming, their days are usually consumed by revision schedules and practice papers. For one full hour, however, exam pressure faded into the background. Rather than stressing over grades, students poured their focus into the creative process, taking time to pause, breathe, and reset.
By the end of the workshop, the room was filled with colourful, heartwarming artwork. More than just a creative display, the pieces served as a quiet reminder of the importance of self-care and mental well-being during demanding times, a simple escape that brought much-needed calm to the whole group.
