A Heartfelt Farewell: Embracing Gratitude and New Beginnings The air in the hall was thick with quiet anticipation—not for exams, not for results, but for something far deeper: gratitude.
On February 14th, we gathered in the hall for the very last time, adorned in our full school uniforms. As we settled in, the atmosphere buzzed with a mix of nostalgia and hope. Through heartfelt sharings and touching video clips crafted by our schoolmates specially for the Thanksgiving Prayer Service, we reminisce on some of the moments our journey at STC. Each laugh, every tear, and even the reminders of late homework flashed before our eyes, evoking a bittersweet sense of being Shungtakians. A poignant highlight of the Service was the outpouring of gratitude towards our teachers. They have been our steadfast guides, nurturing our growth and transforming us from wide-eyed freshmen into confident graduates-to-be. Their unwavering support has been the bedrock upon which we’ve built our knowledge and character.
The Service also provided a much-needed respite from the weight of impending exams. It was a sacred time to pause, reflect, and share our worries with God. Clutching the bookmark of Our Lady of Knots, we felt a tangible blessing—a reminder that we are never alone in our struggles. With both spiritual and physical support, we are empowered to strive for excellence during the upcoming study leave and DSE. In closing, may God bless us with the strength and courage to face the examination of the HKDSE that lie ahead. As we move onto our study break, let us carry forward the lessons learned, the friendships forged, and the gratitude that binds us together. Pray for us.
