Overnight Camp: Mysteries Unveiled (Outcomes for Participants)

On 27–28 March, the Students’ Union hosted the Cacilhas Overnight Camp as a structured start to the Easter holidays. Using a ‘mysteries’ story framework, the programme welcomed 56 participants to spend two days and one night immersed in activities where they helped shape the ongoing story through the choices they made and the challenges they completed.

The overnight programme was built around team-based game challenges. As participants advanced through the activities, they contributed to the storyline while developing teamwork, strategy, and problem-solving. A competitive element also gave groups a clear goal: work together to achieve the highest team ranking.

An important outcome of the camp was that it strengthened participants’ sense of belonging to the school. By working closely together overnight, playing, collaborating, and completing challenges as part of school teams, students reinforced their connection to the wider school community, gained confidence, and left with shared memories built around teamwork and achievement.
