Learning beyond the classroom offers students a valuable opportunity to explore the beauty of nature and see how science can be applied to environmental protection. After the Second Organized Test, S.1 and S.2 students participated in an educational program at the Mai Po Nature Reserve during which they had the chance to uncover the wonders of Hong Kong’s wetlands and gain a deeper appreciation of nature.
Students explored diverse wetland habitats, walked along a floating boardwalk, and observed a variety of bird species unique to Mai Po.
The highlight of the trip was to help remove Mikania, one of Hong Kong’s most common invasive plant species. This hands-on experience not only deepened their understanding of environmental issues but also reminded them of their role in protecting the planet.
