Capture the Flag (CTF) originally started as a traditional Western sport and has since evolved into a globally popular cybersecurity competition.
Since the first CTF competition at the DEFCON hacker conference in 1996, various CTF events focusing on cybersecurity techniques have emerged worldwide. These events are rich in information, highly engaging, and widely enjoyed. This year, we participated in the Cybersecurity CTF 2024 competition organized by The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Among nearly one hundred participating teams, we secured first place in the secondary category.
During the award presentation ceremony, Prof. Pascal O. Vontobel, Head of the Department of Information Engineering at CUHK, shared the challenges and joys of CTF and introduced the development and prospects of Information Engineering at the university. The event was not just about winning; it was a great learning experience that brought us closer together. We felt proud and thankful for the chance to compete, learn, and grow as a team. This experience has inspired us to keep exploring cybersecurity and to do our best in everything we do.
