Sunday, 26 January 2025With the conclusion of our Blue Sapphire Fundraising Dinner, organized by the STC Alumni Association, spearheaded by the Chairman Adolf Tang Yiu Wing and Vice- Chairman Simon Leung Kwok Yuen, we can officially close the chapter on our 65th Anniversary celebrations.
Our journey began last November with a vibrant kick-off ceremony featuring an exhilarating basketball exhibition by the Eagles Basketball Team. This event not only brought our community together but also helped raise vital funds for the Shung Tak Alumni Education Foundation which would support learning and teaching at Shung Tak.
Throughout the year, we organized a variety of events to commemorate this milestone for our school. From our engaging Logo and Slogan competitions to spirited challenges of STChallenge and Info Day, every event was a testament to our school spirit. Open Day welcomed potential new students and families, while primary school invitational competitions—such as the Chinese Debate, All Write Now, ROBOMASTER, and Mathematics Ability Competition—showcased the talents of our young scholars.
We celebrated the creation of the Eight Beatitudes painting at the 65th Anniversary Founders Day, Opening Mass cum Opening Ceremony. At the Closing Thanksgiving Prayer Service, Cardinal Chow; our present Supervisor Father Li; and our former supervisors, Father Arturo and Father Gervais blessed our Staffroom, St. Benedict Mosaic, and the 65th Anniversary Mural.
Behind the scenes, countless hours were dedicated to making these events successful. We also launched a dedicated 65th Anniversary website, updated our History Wall, and created and sold commemorative souvenirs. Soon to be published, a special edition of the Chronicle would share all the festivities of the past year.
As we close the chapter on this unforgettable anniversary year, we can most certainly say it was indeed a year of joy and camaraderie that have defined our celebrations. The laughter shared, the memories created, and the milestones achieved will be cherished for years to come as it demonstrated the wonderful spirit of our school, STC. Here’s to a bright future filled with more adventures, achievements, and shared experiences as we carry the legacy of our school into the next chapter!
