Sports is never restricted to teams competing for a ball or comparing speeds. While retaining basic elements of sports like strategic mindset and competitive nature, new sports events provide less physically demanding options for youngsters to enjoy exercise with peers. With the final exams done and dusted, the Students’ Union has reserved a morning for our students to experience and explore new sports activities that are as fun and beneficial.
Separating into different venues, students experienced sport games like the Finnish Mölkky and racing on a giant caterpillar. Each grade enjoyed a session of 20 minutes to discover the four activities, learning while winning points for their own house. Although it is a competitive event, our students remained gentle to competitors and friendly to teammates, showcasing great sportsmanship.
The sessions were short, but significant. These new sports not only introduced students to innovative sports ideas but also showed how creativity pushes the boundaries of the traditional sports field to a more diverse era, allowing anyone to participate in healthy activities. And same for us, who also bear big minds and dreams, shall push ourselves forward, and utilise our specialities to create a new path of our own.
