30th OSC@STC

This year marks the 30th consecutive year that Shung Tak has been supporting the Operation Santa Claus campaign organised by South China Morning Post and RTHK. This year, we collaborated with a local non-profit organisation and one of this year’s OSC beneficiaries, Kids4Kids, to give Shungtakians an opportunity to be involved in our local community by participating in the Kids4Kids Buddy Reading Programme. To learn more about Kids4Kids, sharing and Q&A sessions were held in early December to enhance students’ understanding of their current challenges and opportunities for student bodies to give back to our community. In our campaign this year, apart from teachers’ costume voting, Christmas cards were also sold to raise funds for charity and to let Shungtakians show their Christmas blessings towards their loved ones. On our Operation Santa Claus day, which took place on our school campus on the 13th of December, Shungtakians dressed in casual wear and some of our student leaders even cosplayed as their parents and various everyday heroes. In the afternoon, our campus turned into a Christmas bazaar where DIY items, food and games booths were led by class associations and clubs to raise even more funds to support our OSC fundraising efforts. It was certainly a memorable day to have fun and sow seeds of philanthropy in our community! All in all, we managed to raise a school-record $78,888.80!
