United in Adventure: A Memorable Inter-School Camp Experience
5L Maylin Lau
With a warm breeze blowing, Shung Tak leaders engaged in a meaningful, Inter-School Two-Day, One-Night Camp, with leaders from S.K.H. Lam Kau Mow Secondary School at the HKYWCA Sydney Leong Holiday Lodge on Lantau Island. On the first day, we were divided into three groups for activities that focussed on communication and collaboration. Building a Lego tower in one minute tested our ability in division of labour and time management. Eye-mask games fostered teamwork and strengthened our bonds as we navigated the campsite blindfolded to find our teammates through creative communication.
The next day, a more exhausting activity awaited us: crossing the Green Dragon Creek. With varying abilities and strengths, not everyone in the team could easily climb over the rocks, but working as a Team, we left no one behind. The different sizes of the rocks reminded us of the challenges we faced, symbolizing that a team should always navigate difficulties together. This Camp fostered teamwork and communication among leaders from Shung Tak and Lam Kau Mow. Engaging activities emphasized collaboration and support, reinforcing the idea that we can overcome challenges together. This experience strengthened our bonds and provided valuable leadership skills, leaving us inspired and united.
