The STC Student Activities Committee is committed to providing all student groups the support to plan, organize and present extracurricular and co-curricular activities. The SAC would also like to give students a voice on activities they would like to see on campus and to achieve a sense of leadership within the student body. We have seen the growth of the number of clubs from student input and in fact the school’s Japanese and Psychology Club grew from student initiative.

STC believes that all children benefit from extracurricular activities. ECAs can help children to develop socially, emotionally, scholastically and physically.  They increase students’ confidence levels and also help them to be more responsible and disciplined. Through ECAs, students can hone in on their specific interests and fine-tune their skills, which can help to pave the way for their future goals, dreams, activities and even career.

Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs), on the other hand, constitute an integral part of the holistic, well-rounded education that we seek for Shungtakians. Work done in classes are put into action through CCAs’ clubs like the Economics Club.

The SAC hopes to nurture in students qualities of resilience, tenacity, confidence and perseverance, which will better prepare them to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing world.
