Dear Sister Michelle, Mr. Alexander Chan, BBS, JP, our Guest-of-Honour, honoured guests, IMC Managers, representatives of the Parent-Teacher Association and Alumni Association, teachers and students,

Thank you very much for joining our 60th Anniversary Kick-off Ceremony. Without your great support, our ceremony would not have been possible.

On behalf of the school, I would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Alexander Chan, BBS, JP, our Alumni Manager and also the Chairman of the Alumni Association, who has kindly consented without hesitation to be the Guest-of-Honour of our Kick-off Ceremony, despite his tight work schedule. We are much obliged to him for his love and care for his alma mater. In addition, we need to give our thanks to the Alumni Association for donating prizes to the winners of the Chinese and English Slogan Competitions, and Logo Design Competition of our 60th Anniversary.

Gratitude is also extended to all honoured guests, IMC Managers, representatives of the Parent-Teacher Association and Alumni Association. Your presence surely adds colours and warmth to our Diamond Jubilee.

I would like to thank all teachers, especially the members of the 60th Anniversary Organising Committee, who have contributed so much of their precious time in preparing for the Ceremony and making it a success. Another round of applause should go to the Campus TV Team for preparing a special video programme, which you have just watched, for the 60th birthday of our school.

I am sure all of you would agree that today is a day of joy and also a day of thanksgiving. Fifty-nine years ago, Shung Tak was founded with Saints Peter and Paul Church at Shui Pin Tsuen, Yuen Long, occupying only the ground floor and the first floor of the church at that time. Under the leadership and effort of our former supervisors, principals and their colleagues, Shung Tak has been developed from a private school with only 7 classes to a subsidized whole-day co-educational secondary school with 24 classes using English as the main medium of instruction.

We all understand that quality education cannot be achieved by only providing a spacious campus or the most updated equipment or facilities. I believe all of you understand that STC could not progress healthily without the keen devotion and hard work of each and every Shungtakian. Therefore, dear boys and girls, when you are enjoying the fruit of success of our school, please always remember to thank all the people who have contributed to our school. Furthermore, you have to keep in mind that you should always work to your best and contribute to your alma mater in whatever means and whenever you can, now and in the future.

Today, as a nice tradition, the Parent-Teacher Association and the Alumni Association will jointly sponsor every staff member and student some drinks and snacks. And more important is that, the snacks provided by the PTA this year are all home-made dim sum with care and love. In addition to the these arrangements, you can also join our celebration activities by participating in the Semi-final of the Senior Singing Contest, the teacher-student competitive games organised by the SU or just being the audience of either events. I hope all of you will enjoy the programmes specially designed for you this afternoon.

May I take this opportunity to thank, once again, both the Parent-Teacher Association and the Alumni Association, not only for their sponsorship of snacks and drinks, but in particular their generous and strong support to Shung Tak all these years. May I invite all of you to show our appreciation and gratitude to them with another big round of applause.

Thank you very much and may God bless you all.
