Good morning Principal, teachers and fellow Shungtakians,After the Christmas holidays, F.6 and F.7 students will have mock exams. In the meantime, public exams are coming too. F.6 and F.7 students, are you ready for the public exams? How will you prepare for them? When you are preparing for the public exams, don’t think that your teacher is the only person that can help you. Your friends can also help you too! Peer support is very important for you to prepare well for the exams. Here I would like to share what my friends and I had done when we were preparing for the A-level exam.
When we were having study leave, we formed a study group. We met together once a week to discuss some difficult topics. We shared some useful books and notes from other schools. One of my friends even set questions and gave us to do. After that we discussed answers together. By discussion, we found our weaknesses and we tried to improve them. When we were preparing for oral exams, we had oral practice every week and we commented on each other.
Many researches also prove the effectiveness of this learning method. By forming study group, members of the study group not only can understand more and better, but also they can gain better friendships. I also believe that study group really works! Of course, in order to make study group successful, every member in the study group should contribute. F.6 and F.7 students, when you are preparing for the public exams, try to form study groups with your friends and you will benefit from them! Good luck for your exams!
Let’s take out Hosanna and turn to page 15, prayer no.19, Prayer for our Studies. Let us pray………
