In October and November, eleven primary schools in the region participated, joining the training and the contest. It ran along the same line as the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival. The Principal had made a promise to the Tin Shui Wai Catholic Primary School that our College would organize a series of English activities exclusively for it. This department thought it unfair and wasteful of resources. Therefore this event was opened up to 11 primary schools in the region instead of just one. There were far too many schools and organizations doing nearly the same thing. There were many copycats for parents to choose from. Shung Tak had the edge of being well-known among parents in providing quality English environment for students.

The STC English Speech Contest trophy was awarded to QES Old Studentsˇ¦ Association Primary School for scoring the highest average points based on school enrollment and students who participated in the workshops and entry in the contest. Their work was recognized with certificates of attendance and participation.
